This position is located at Maple Manor, 139 Minard Run Road, Bradford, PA 16701.
Maple Manor is an inpatient alcohol and drug rehab facility that can accommodate 24 individuals.
*THE DUTIES:*
* Evaluates and assesses individuals referred to inpatient to determine the extent of the problem and developing a course of treatment by collecting drug and alcohol data, collecting psychosocial data, observing behavior, completing other screenings as necessary and referring clients to other agencies as needed.
* Coordinates and recommends clients to a lower level of care prior to clients discharge to aid in the clients’ continuum of care.
* Establishes and maintains cohesive relationships with referral sources outside the agency.
* Keeps and maintains client charts on a daily basis by completing all necessary forms.
* Works with new employees in on the job training to ensure they develop necessary knowledge, skills and abilities to work with clients.
* Attends supervision, staffing, trainings and other meetings necessary for the overall functioning of the inpatient program.
* Develops a therapeutic relationship with clients and actively engages them in counseling sessions.
* Reads, interprets and explains policies, procedures, inpatient rules, and regulations.
* Writes and updates treatment plans, discharge summaries, and daily charting requirements and orally and in writing evaluates and summarizes individual cases for presentations.
* Completes urinalysis as needed to facilitate effective treatment.
* Provides treatment to family members and loved ones of clients in inpatient treatment to assist in increased success rates.
* Enters all information needed for electronic files.
* Conducts group, individual, and family therapy sessions.
* Aids in cooking and light housekeeping as necessary.
* Communicates with insurance companies/funding sources, as necessary, via precertification, continued stay reviews, and discharges, documenting all contacts.
* Transports clients using the agency van as needed.
* Performs all other related duties as assigned.
*THE REQUIREMENTS:*
* Ability to learn the drug and alcohol abusing subculture.
* Ability to learn crisis intervention methods; individual, family, group and marital counseling techniques; and techniques for modifying behavior.
* Ability to read and understand office guidelines and office forms, such as, liability forms, insurance forms, staffing forms, and consent forms.
* Ability to learn to conduct individual, group, family and marital counseling sessions.
* Ability to learn to write and update treatment plans, admission and discharge summaries, daily progress notes, monthly reports, form letters, and correspondence relating to specific clients.
* Ability to learn to assess level of client dependency on substances, progress in treatment, and environmental factors influencing client.
*MINIMUM EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING:*
A Bachelor's degree with a major in chemical dependency, psychology, social work, counseling, nursing (with a clinical specialty in human services) or other behavioral science and two (2) years of clinical experience in a health or human service agency.
Driver's License is required.
Drug testing is required.
