Position Description: Part-time; 30 hours/week.
Performs routine building cleaning tasks and assists in minor maintenance duties; does related work as required.
This is routine cleaning work involving some strenuous manual labor and the operation of heavy cleaning equipment.
The work involves the thorough execution of tasks, which follow a well-established routine under general supervision of the Assistant Director of Buildings and Grounds.
Essential Functions: Sweeps, mops, washes floors and stairwells.
Clean window glass inside and out.
Including window sills.
Vacuum carpet.
Spot clean carpet using proper chemicals and equipment.
Must possess or have a willingness to learn knowledge and understanding proper cleaning chemical usage.
Dusts and cleans furniture.
Cleans restrooms and locker rooms and replenishes supplies.
Strips and waxes floors.
Operates buffer, auto scrubber, floor maintainer, extractor, etc.
as needed.
Always maintains a clean assigned area.
Performs grounds work when required.
Performs snow removal when required.
Performs duties required for special event set up and reset, including moving furniture.
Replaces light bulbs when required.
Washes walls, lockers, doors, and showcases.
Collects and disposes of trash and recyclables.
Makes minor repairs to furniture and fixtures, helps with more difficult repair work.
Ensures all exterior doors, office doors and classroom doors are locked prior to departure.
Cleans all assigned areas as directed per standards set forth by the College.
Ability to work successfully in a team environment.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications: Required: Working knowledge of cleaning methods, materials, and equipment.
Ability to understand and follow verbal and written directions.
Ability to read and write.
Thoroughness, cleanliness.
Must possess good interpersonal/human relations skills and a commitment to providing excellent customer service.
Direct communication with Supervisors is required.
Preferred: Valid and current driver’s license.
DMV license check must show that there has been no DUI in the last 3 years.
In addition, eligible candidates must have no DUI or violation in the last 5 years and must not have six or more points in the last 3 years.
NOTE: Depending on location and shift assignment, a driver’s license may be required.
Additional Information: Salary: $14.
64/hour.
