Echocardiography Technician

Corry Memorial Hospital is in search of a full time Echocardiography technician.
The main occupational tasks will involve creating images of the heart, cardiac chambers, valves, and vessels for the purpose of assessing heart function and diagnosing heart ailments.
The Tech will work closely with the physician/cardiologist, often performing the technical aspects of the examinations, evaluating the findings, and reporting them to the physician/cardiologists.
The ECHO Tech will perform ECHOs on both inpatients and outpatients.
He/she will be responsible for interviewing the patients and reviewing their medical records so that he/she may adapt their sonographic techniques as necessity dictates.
The Tech will provide patient care, such as preparing the patients for the sonographic imaging and providing them with instruction during the echocardiograph so that the images turn out properly.
There will be clerical duties related to completion of the ECHO and submitting information to the physician/cardiologist.
The tech must be familiar with preparation and administration of contrast such as Definity.
Must be a certified sonographer with specific training to perform ECHOs and have BLS certification.
