Chautauqua PT/OT Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA)

*POSITION SUMMARY:* Under close supervision of a PT or OT, perform only delegated, selected or routine tasks in specific situations.
These duties include preparing the patient and treatment area.
Maintain an efficient and orderly work environment.
*Sign on Bonus of $1,500 for a commitment of 1 year.
* *ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:* 1.
Clean and organize work area and disinfect equipment and tables after treatment.
2.
Observe patients during treatment to compile and evaluate data on patients’ responses and progress and report to therapist.
3.
Instruct, motivate, safeguard and assist patients practicing exercises and functional activities, under direction of physical therapist.
4.
Secure patients into or onto therapy equipment.
5.
Transport patients to and from treatment areas, using wheelchairs or providing standing support.
6.
Confer with physical therapy staff or others to discuss and evaluate patient information for planning modifying and coordinating treatment.
7.
Record treatment given, and equipment used.
8.
Maintain equipment and furniture to keep it in good working condition, including performing the assembly and disassembly of equipment and accessories.
9.
Change linens, such as pillowcases.
10.
Arrange treatment supplies to keep them in order.
11.
Assist patients to dress, undress, and put on and remove supportive devices such as braces, splints and slings.
12.
Be aware of the waiting room and scheduled times of patients.
13.
Application of moist heat and cold packs.
14.
Laundry – washing, drying, folding, and putting away.
15.
Constant communication.
Let the therapists know where their patients are in their program.
16.
Assistance in the front office when needed.
Job Type: Full-time Pay: $45,000.
