Position Description: This is a grant-funded position for two years.
Twelve-month, full-time professional staff position responsible for development and coordination of programs at the college for high school students.
Coordinates collaborative opportunities between secondary and higher education instructors, counselors, or administrators to improve student participation and ownership of their education process and career and college planning.
Serves as advocate for SUNY JCC by supporting existing program partners and cultivating new partner relationships.
Essential Functions: Develop and implement non-credit training opportunities for high school students intending to go directly into the workforce after graduation.
Coordinate logistics (eg.
: scheduling, transportation, invoicing, etc.
) between college and secondary partners engaging students in training opportunities.
Meet with students interested in workforce development programs, as well as their parents.
Connect students with Success Navigators or Counselors, as needed.
Develop and implement a homeschool student program.
Outreach to homeschool student/parent groups.
Work closely with the Registrar, Business Office, Workforce Development, and other on-campus offices.
Consult with JCC faculty and staff to provide accurate information concerning JCC programs, course and instructor information, and transfer opportunities.
Develop and maintain web and print materials related to high school programs.
Manage PEP, EARN, and homeschool dual enrollment programs.
Review and process student applications and communicate with students and parents.
Connect and communicate regularly with high school counselors.
Work closely with Success Navigators to coordinate orientations and information sessions for high school students engaging in JCC programs.
Travel as needed to area high schools and BOCES centers.
Qualifications: Required: Bachelor’s degree plus a minimum of two (2) years of professional experience.
Oral and written communication skills and group presentation skills necessary.
Ability to problem solve and innovate.
Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and accuracy.
Competence with technology and commonly used software programs.
Ability to problem solve; coordinate and develop complex documents; read and apply laws, rules, and regulations; write and deliver persuasive proposals/presentations; plan, prioritize, and coordinate multiple projects.
Ability to work effectively in a team.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Commitment to providing excellent customer service.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail and accuracy.
Preferred: Project management experience, including process/procedure creation and improvement.
Experience in higher education setting.
Experience in secondary education setting.
Additional Information: Salary: $23.
88 - 26.
64/hour.
Excellent benefits package, including medical and dental insurance, paid vacation and sick leave, and NYS retirement.
