Under the direction of the RN Supervisor, the *LPN Wing Supervisor* carries out the medical plan of care and oversees the Nursing Assistants' care of residents and High School Students to insure that resident care is carried out in accordance with good nursing practice and applicable State and Federal regulations.

* Administers and records medication, treatments and monitoring e.

glucose checks, as ordered and reports and documents resident response
* Accurately transcribes physician's orders
* Completes monthly summaries as scheduled
* Reviews the care plan with NAs on monthly summary day and updates the care plan to reflect the resident’s current condition.
* Notifies the RN Supervisor immediately of a significant change in resident’s condition
* Reports and records changes in resident condition to the RN Supervisor
* Communicates resident transfers to immediate family and via email to department heads
* Completes transfer form for all transfers
* Updates care plans with clear, concise, time limited goals to reflect resident condition and directs team to implement approaches
* Assists physicians with rounds, examinations and treatments as needed
* Collects laboratory specimens e.
g.
: urine, cultures, stool, etc.
and arranges for delivery to Hospital with accurate and complete requisitions.
Documents in PCC when laboratory work is done
* On resident death, supervises and assists with post mortem procedures.
Assists with collection of resident's clothing and belongings.
Notifies all department heads of death via email, makes phone calls as directed by RN Supervisor

* Must possess knowledge of: medical asepsis, body mechanics, personal care of residents, correct use and care of equipment, observation techniques, reporting and recording, thorough knowledge of nursing theory and it's application
* Must be willing to possess knowledge of and comply with regulations, policies, procedures, contracts and philosophy of the institution
* Must maintain a courteous and professional manner toward residents, visitors and co-workers and a dedication to meet the needs of the elderly
* Must have awareness of cost containment, utilize time fully, and properly care for equipment
* Must possess ability to accept and follow written and verbal directives
* Must utilize good communication and observation skills
