Mental Health Counselor - Behavioral Health - Per Diem All Shifts
Under direct supervision, the Behavioral Health Counselor provides emergency behavioral health counseling, conducts evaluations and assessments using assessment instruments.
He/she uses verbal or behavioral methods with individuals, couples, families or groups.
Behavioral Health Counselors work closely with other behavioral health specialists, including Psychiatrists, Registered Professional Nurses, Occupational Therapists and MSWs.
They maintain a working relationship with community health, welfare, and social agencies while adhering to inter-agency policies and procedures.
Graduate from of an accredited university with a major in counseling psychology or related field.
Master’s Degree required, or have met the requirements for licensure that have been imposed by NYSED.
Will be licensed by NYSED.
Successful completion of BLS course required.
Successful completion of Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) required.
