Financial Clearance Rep.

Under the direction of the assigned supervisor or manager of Patient Access, performs activities related to inpatient and outpatient scheduling, pre-registration, insurance verification, authorization, pre-certification, financial clearance process, advising patients of their financial responsibility and collecting monies for services according to appropriate policies.
Coordinates referrals to the Financial Counselors for uninsured or underinsured patients.
Additional responsibilities include interviewing patients/guarantors to obtain demographic, confidential clinical and financial information necessary to appropriately schedule, register, obtain treatment authorizations and verify insurance eligibility and corresponding benefit levels.
Critical to this position is the ability to gather and record all appropriate information that lays the groundwork for the remaining or future fiscal efforts of Olean General Hospital and Bradford Regional Medical Center.
High School diploma or equivalent required.
One (1) or more years of experience in a medical setting.
Knowledge of health insurance and registration preferred.
