Detailer/Technician

We are seeking a talented Steel Fabrication Detailer/Technician to join our team and contribute to the success of our company.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of structural steel detailing, steel fabrication, proficiency in industry-standard software, and a commitment to delivering accurate and high-quality fabrication drawings.
QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's degree in engineering, architecture, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
3+ years of proven experience as a steel fabrication detailer, preferably in the construction or manufacturing industry.
Proficiency in structural steel detailing software, such as AutoCAD, Tekla Structures, SDS/2, or similar programs.
Strong understanding of structural steel, fabrication processes, and industry standards.
Excellent attention to detail and ability to produce accurate and precise fabrication drawings.
Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to collaborate across teams and communicate technical information clearly.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks to meet project deadlines.
Knowledge of relevant codes and standards, including AISC standards and AWS welding codes.
Experience with 3D modeling and BIM coordination is a plus.
Certification or training in steel detailing software and techniques is preferred.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and fabricators to understand project requirements and specifications.
Use industry-standard software, such as AutoCAD, Tekla Structures, or SDS/2, to check fabrication drawings in accordance with industry standards and project guidelines.
Ensure accuracy and completeness of fabrication drawings, including dimensions, tolerances, material specifications, and weld symbols.
Collaborate with the drafting team to review and revise drawings based on feedback from project stakeholders and quality assurance checks.
Generate bills of materials (BOMs), material takeoffs, and reports based on the 3D model to support procurement and production activities.
Communicate effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders to resolve design issues, clarify requirements, and ensure project deadlines are met.
Stay current with industry trends, software updates, and best practices related to steel fabrication detailing.
Participate in design review meetings and provide input to optimize fabrication processes and improve project efficiency.
Adhere to relevant codes, standards, and regulations governing steel fabrication and detailing, including AISC standards and AWS welding codes.
