Responsibilities:
- Fabricate and assemble structural metal products, such as frameworks or shells for machinery, ovens, tanks, and metal parts for buildings and bridges.
- Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, or product specifications to determine sequence and methods of fabricating, assembling, and installing sheet metal products.
- Lay out and mark dimensions and reference lines on material to develop and trace patterns of product or parts, or uses templates.
- Set up and operate fabricating machines such as shears, brakes, presses, forming rolls, and routers to cut, bend, block and form or straighten materials.
- Shape metal material over anvil, block or other form using hand tools.
- Trim, file, grind, deburr, buff or smooth surfaces using hand tools or portable power tools.
- Welding experience is a plus.
Skills:
- Proficient in the use of various hand tools and power tools.
- Ability to read blueprints and interpret technical drawings.
- Knowledge of different welding techniques (MIG/TIG/Stick).
- Familiarity with forklift operation and safety procedures.
- Experience with plasma cutting and press brake machines is a plus.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
