Quality Technician

Zippo Manufacturing Company, is currently seeking qualified applicants for a full-time, hourly employment opportunity as a Quality Technician: responsible for understanding, applying, and supporting the ISO Standards while using prescribed Metrology methods to inspect, measure, and test materials, components, and products, and making analysis required for product and process quality control.
What you'll do: Provide company-wide support to ensure alignment and compliance to the ISO standards as necessary.
Lead and/or participate in internal and/or external audits.
Issue, lead and/or assist corrective action requests as necessary (CAPA/SCAR).
Initiate, review and revise controlled documentation as necessary.
Communication with customers and suppliers regarding issues or concerns as necessary.
Set up measuring techniques on special equipment using the Metrology methods required.
Understand effective calibration to corresponding measuring equipment.
Inform production supervision of correct dimensions for products and machine set ups as directed.
Inspect, measure, and test purchased materials, components, and products.
Accept or reject, as required.
Make analysis of processes, materials, and products, provide communications of analysis to appropriate personnel.
Perform lab tests, compile, and record data, evaluate, and communicate results.
Analyze non-conforming materials and products for cause.
Prepare reports, record data, keep and maintain respective files.
Interface with manufacturing on issues, which could include operators, supervisors, managers, engineers, and sales.
Train, mentor, and guide Quality personnel as necessary.
Assist and support engineering and manufacturing on special projects.
Schedule and Complete R&R and Capability Studies as required/requested.
Read and interpret blueprints or drawings.
Perform any other duties related in nature that may be required.
What you'll need: Associate degree in relevant field preferred Demonstrated Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite required Knowledge of AX operating system preferred Mathematical Capabilities Dimensional Measurement and Data Analysis Abilities Blueprint – Reading and Dimensional Tolerancing Competences Gauge Knowledge and Uses Statistical Process Control (SPC) Knowledge and Proficiencies Trend Analysis Experience Time Management & Prioritizing Skills Experience with Data Collection and Reporting Excellent Communication Skills (Verbal & Written)
